What does the author mean when she says on p. 244 "her face a mixture ...mastery"? 2. What is the "way forward"? (246)
The story Tripp Lake is about a ten year old girl named Lauren Slater who is going through a rough point in her life. She is sent to a camp in Poland, Maine. The quote on page 244 explains the rush she gets while riding. She explains her inner feelings and outer expressions of this exhileration where she feels like a superhero.
When Lauren overcomes her fear of jumping she is a lot more positive about everything. She believes in herself now and realizes what she would have been missing out on if she would have given up because she was afraid.
